This is Sammy. He's pure white and is as cuddly as Doodles, but slightly larger. They need to stop growling at each other and learn to live together. Both of them are declawed (cruel I know, but I adopted them that way), so I don't need to worry too much about them fighting. Just call me the crazy cat lady. I can't help it! Mom has 4 dogs and 1 cat. I have 4945876 cats. One more won't hurt.

The Great Outdoors

Since Doodles sits at either the front or back door and paws at the windows, I decided to let him adventure out into the world. He loves it! I leave the back door cracked open enough to let him come and go as he pleases and closed enough that I don't freeze in the crazy weather we've been having. Sunday was warm, Monday it snowed, Tuesday I slept so I don't remember, and Wednesday it hailed.

Tagged (Damn It!)

I don't like talking (or writing) about my own self, but since I was tagged by Krinkle, I guess I'll comply.

Things I admire about myself:
* I am a hard and efficient worker. I'm good at what I do and I know it.
* I'm a good listener. Like Krinkle, I like the gossip, too.
* My eyes (see pictures on my sidebar).
* My ability to play the piano.
* I'm a good leader, if I have to be. I'd rather be in the background.
* I have an excellent memory. If something is important to me, I'll remember it forever. If it's unimportant, I'll forget it in an instant.

Things I enjoy:
* I love music of any genre, except rap and hip hop.
* I love to sing, whether I'm good or not.
* I like to bake.
* My family. We never seem to spent enough time together, though.
* I love to travel. I want to go everywhere and see everything. Need to win the lottery, so I can do this.
* Watching movies. Even if I've seen then 100 times before.
* Cats - housecats, tigers, panthers, leopards, jaguars, mountain lions, etc, etc.

Things I expect of myself:
* To eat healthier and quit drinking Coke.
* Keep in touch with my family more often.
* ??????????

Bad Mama

I am such a horrible mom. Yesterday, I was going back and forth between barbecuing dinner and planting flowers around Hildie's grave site. As I went in and out of the house, Doodles was curious and acted like he wanted to go out, so I let him....for about 30 seconds. I brought in back in and then went out and finished with the flowers. By the time that was done, dinner was ready. I ate and watched The Notebook and then it was bedtime. I hollered for Doodles with no response. I searched everywhere he's been hiding and no Doodles! I was freaking out!!!!!!!!! Some where between going out the back door to cook and out the front door to plant, he managed to escape. I was so tired, I couldn't go out to look for him, so I went to bed feeling guilty for losing him after only a week. When I got up for work, I went outside and called his name, but still no answer. Was I being punished? Anyway, I decided to leave the back door open all night in case he decided to come home. I went all night feeling bad because he escaped with out me seeing him, but I must have made a good impression on him throughout the week. He came back! It's a beautiful morning. The flowers are in bloom and Doodles is home. Life is grand!

Meet Doodles

It's been almost a week and I miss Hildie terribly!!!! However, I have someone new I want everyone to meet. His name is Doodles. Mom, Aunt Mary, and I went to the Idaho Humane Society last Sunday (same day as Hildie passed) to look at the animals. Not especially wanting to replace Hildie so soon, I needed to fill the void. There was Nakita. His past family put him up for adoption the day before his 6th birthday(April 4th) because they had "too many" pets. How can you have "too many" pets? Anyway, Nakita needed a home, so we adopted him. Confused about the names? Well, we all thought Nakita was too girly for this sweet and cuddly big boy(he weighs 15 lbs!!) so, I gave it a few days and came up with Doodles. I kept calling hime dude and one time doodles came out, so I decided on that. It took him about a day, but he's made himself at home. He even sleeps with me. He's kind of camera shy so the pictures aren't very good, but here he is.......

In Loving Memory

Today I had to bury Hildie. My best friend, my child, my soul mate. Although Hildie was just a cat, she was my baby. So I don't have to repeat this many times to family and friends, here's why. Hidlie possibly contracted a virus from another cat. For the past few days, her appetite diminished. I saw her weakening so I fed her by hand as often as she would allow. She was still able to get up and move around the house, but yesterday when she got up, I noticed her hind legs weren't working like they should. She tried to walk, but one of her feet was dragging behind. Over the course of the day, when she tried to walk, her legs wouldn't function and she would just plop over. She would lay in the same spot, tossing and turning, but not really resting. I noticed her breathing was getting harder and harder. When I woke up this morning, her breathing was really labored and she wouldn't get up at all. She was crying, as was I. So.... thank goodness for the Internet, I looked for a vet that was opened on Sundays and luckily found one close by. I rushed her there and after examining her, they determined her liver was failing. She was jaundiced and had a body temperature of 95 degrees, which 102 is normal. Her poor little body was shutting down. The prognosis was not good. After weighing the options, I decided she didn't need to suffer anymore, so I made the decision to have her euthanized. As I said my goodbyes I held her head up and she looked at me with those big round eyes, then the doctor came in to administer her shot. She "cried" one last time as if to say goodbye and then it was over. My baby was gone. I buried her under my pussy willow tree, so she'll always be in the shade where she loved to lay.

I Love you Hildie!

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamonds gilt on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.

A day at the movies

I will not be threatened by a walking meatloaf........

I've been on vacation all week and today Cristie's girls, Emily and Jessica, are spending the day with me, watching movies and eating popcorn.

E&J

We've watched August Rush and currently, we are watching "American Werewolf in London". It's a classic horror film.

Scared

Here's a clip of David transfroming into a werewolf.

New Header

Like my new header? I've always liked black and pink together, so I thought I'd create a new header for my blog. It was so simple. I used only a couple elements from the kit Soda Pop I got from Digital Candy. Like the font? It's my own handwriting. I had the font made especially for me. Click here to get your own.
